Convert HEIC to WebP to get the smallest files for websites, blogs and online shops. WebP opens in every modern browser and usually comes out noticeably smaller than a JPG at the same visual quality. Use the quality slider to trade size for detail.
How to use it in 3 steps
- Drop your HEIC photos on the box.
- Set the quality (75–85 works well for websites).
- Download the WebP files or a ZIP of all of them.
Why HEIC?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container, also called HEIF) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It keeps roughly the same quality as JPG in about half the space, which is why Apple uses it.
The catch is compatibility: Windows needs an extra codec to open HEIC, most websites, forms and older apps reject it, and many Android phones and print services can't read it. Converting to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF gives you a file that opens everywhere. This converter decodes the photo in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
