85 — High

This HEIC to JPG converter turns iPhone HEIC photos into standard JPEG files that open on Windows, Android and every website. JPG and JPEG are the same format, just two spellings of the extension. Drop one photo or hundreds, pick a quality, and download them one by one or as a ZIP; nothing is uploaded.

How to use it in 3 steps

  1. Drop your HEIC photos on the box, or choose files.
  2. Adjust the quality slider if you want smaller files (85 is a good default).
  3. Download each JPG, or all of them as one ZIP.

Why HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container, also called HEIF) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It keeps roughly the same quality as JPG in about half the space, which is why Apple uses it.

The catch is compatibility: Windows needs an extra codec to open HEIC, most websites, forms and older apps reject it, and many Android phones and print services can't read it. Converting to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF gives you a file that opens everywhere. This converter decodes the photo in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. JPG and JPEG are the same image format; the shorter .jpg extension dates from old Windows systems that only allowed three letters. Any app that opens one opens the other.

Open this page in Edge, Chrome or Firefox, drop the HEIC files on the box and download the JPGs. You don't need to install the HEIF extension from the Microsoft Store.

JPG is a lossy format, so a tiny amount of detail is lost, but at quality 85 or higher the difference is very hard to see. Choose 95 if you plan to edit or print the photo.

Yes. Under More options, keep "Keep photo info" on and the original date, camera and location (EXIF) are copied into each JPG. Turn it off to remove location before sharing.

No. Photos are converted by your browser on your own device; nothing is uploaded to a server, so they stay private.
