What PDF to HTML conversion produces here
The converter extracts the text layer of each page with PDF.js and writes it into a clean, responsive HTML document — one block per page with a "Page X of Y" label. It is designed for getting readable, web-ready text out of a PDF, not for reproducing the exact visual layout.
What is kept and what is not
| Kept | Not kept |
|---|---|
| All selectable text, in reading order per page | Images, charts and logos |
| Page separation | Exact positioning, columns and fonts |
| Special characters (safely escaped for HTML) | Tables as <table> markup — table text comes through as plain text |
Good uses
- Publishing a report or policy document as a readable web page.
- Making PDF content searchable and indexable on your site.
- Pasting document text into a CMS without PDF line-break artefacts.
When you need something else
- Scanned PDF with no selectable text → run PDF OCR first; this tool can only read an existing text layer.
- Editable document → PDF to Word.
- Just the raw text → PDF to Text.
- Structured data for processing → PDF to XML.
Using the output
The HTML includes a viewport tag and simple built-in CSS, so it reads well on phones as-is. Copy it into your site, or download the .html file and restyle the .page and .content classes to match your design.
